We are skiing in the Jura mountains. After sunshine the first day, the weather turned nasty and the slopes were closed as the icy wind blew the snow into what felt like a blizzard. Everyone had to leave the slopes and it was practically impossible to see the way down to the telecabine! Our (my) descent turned into a mix of tumbling, rolling and sliding, in addition to the snow-plough and parallels that I’d learnt the previous year in ski lessons. Somehow it didn’t feel dangerous even though visibility was down to virtually nothing and my sense of balance was thrown completely by the snow.
